A sheep is a variety of ruminant mammal, often raised for their wool or skin. A young sheep is known as a lamb.
In 2267, Spock cited an old Earth simile to refer to the inhabitants of Argelius II as being, "as peaceful as sheep." (TOS: "Wolf in the Fold")
