Shelly Desai is an actor born on 3 December 1935 in Bombay, India. He appeared in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Data's Day" as V'Sal, a Bolian barber.
His character was named "V'Sal" in the script, although some believe he was meant to be Mr. Mot, the other Bolian barber aboard the USS Enterprise-D.
