Sherman T. Potter was a Human who was kin to descendants of Clare Raymond.
Potter's name was read out in a computer display of the Raymond family's geneology, along with others such as Charles E. Winchester, Frances J. Mulcahey, Margaret Houlihan, and Walter O'Reilley. (TNG: "The Neutral Zone")
Potter and others in the list seem to be references to characters in M*A*S*H productions.
