Shuttle 78072 was a transport vessel assigned by Starfleet to a facility on Delta Vega in 2258 of an alternate reality.
Whilst the shuttle's shield emitters had failed, its transporters were fully functional, and were used to transport James T. Kirk and Montgomery Scott to the USS Enterprise via transwarp beaming. (Star Trek)
