Sigma Draconis system

The Sigma Draconis system is a star system with nine planets, three of them inhabited. It was probed by only long-range scans until the USS Enterprise entered the system in 2268 to search for Commander Spock's brain. (TOS: "Spock's Brain")

Given that the Sigma Draconis system is only 18.8 light years from Earth, an explanation is due for it still being unexplored by the 2260s.

The Enterprise returned to the Sigma Draconis system and discovered a planet composed entirely of liquid in the Ninth UK Story Arc. It continued exploring the system in the Tenth UK Story Arc, discovering it to be a theater of warfare in the conflict between the Eldorians and the Norusians.
