A Skeletal lock was a new method of using a transporter invented by B'Elanna Torres in 2373.

She came up with it after a conventional signal lock failed during an emergency beam-out from a Borg cube. She then tried a skeletal lock which locked onto the minerals in their bone tissue and successfully transported the away team back on board the USS Voyager. (VOY: "Scorpion")
