Snuff box

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

Wilhelm Gottsreich Sigismond von Ormstein's snuff box

A snuff box is a small, often ornately designed box or container in which to hold snuff, a ground or otherwise pulverized material such as Hupyrian beetles or finely ground tobacco which one inhales through the nose.

In the first novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, "A Scandal in Bohemia", Wilhelm Gottsreich Sigismond von Ormstein, king of Bohemia once gave Sherlock Holmes a jeweled snuff box with gold accents. (TNG: "Elementary, Dear Data")

Former Ferengi Grand Nagus Zek carried a quantity of Hupyrian beetle snuff in a latinum-plated octagonal snuff box with him wherever and whenever he traveled. (DS9: "The Nagus")
