Soda pop (commonly known as a soft drink or simply pop or soda) is a carbonated beverage that is sweetened by various means. They are so named since they contain no alcohol as opposed to hard beverages such as whiskey or beer which do contain alcohol. Examples of soda pop are root beer and cola.

The Goliath gulp purchased by Tuvok presumably contained soda pop as well.

Sodas were also known on Miri's planet, where they had been on sale in the Palmerton Cafe in the 1960s. (TOS: "Miri")

In 2267, while poking fun at Pavel Chekov about his beverage of choice, vodka, Montgomery Scott noted to him, that in where he comes from, vodka is called "soda pop". (TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles")

Soft drinks, such as root beer, were among the many beverages avaliable at Quark's. (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior")
