Sonita Henry (born 23 January 1977; age 31) is an English actress of Scottish and Nepalese heritage who has a small role as a Starfleet doctor in 2009's Star Trek. [1]
Hailing from Dover, Kent, England, Henry moved to the United States in 1997. She made her film debut that same year, playing the aide to President Lindberg (played by Tommy "Tiny" Lister, Jr.) in the hit science fiction adventure The Fifth Element.
Henry later appeared in Woody Allen's 1998 comedy Celebrity, which also featured Famke Janssen, Bebe Neuwirth and Winona Ryder – the latter of whom will be appearing in Star Trek along with Henry. She more recently guest-starred in an episode of the CBS Paramount Television series Without a Trace, starring Enrique Murciano.
Henry filmed her scenes on Star Trek in November and worked closely with actress Jennifer Morrison, who plays Winona Kirk (mother of James T. Kirk). Although she could not give specifics about her role, she told TrekMovie.com her role, though it is small, is "extremely important" to Star Trek canon. [2]
Before Star Trek opens, Henry will be seen in the independent film Garden Party. In addition, she is currently in talks for a regular role in a new science fiction series.
