Ensign McFarlane was an officer serving aboard the NX-01 Enterprise NX-01. In September of 2153, he was injured when the ship encountered a spatial anomaly that interfered with the gravity in Cargo Bay 2. (ENT: "The Xindi")

It has been speculated that this is the unnamed engineer character played by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane in ENT: "The Forgotten."
