Species 259

Species 259 is the Borg designation for a technologically advanced omnicordial lifeform that inhabited Galactic Cluster 3. The species numbered some 22 billion when they were assimilated.

This species developed a pattern-duplication design that was later incorporated into the autonomous regeneration sequencers utilized by the Borg. (VOY: "The Gift")
