Stalking mode was a stealth tracking condition employed on Hirogen ships as part of the pursuit of prey. In 2374, the Hirogen hunter Idrin ordered his shipmate, a Beta Hirogen, to use stalking mode to pursue the USS Voyager. (VOY: "Hunters")
