Stanford University was an institution of higher learning located on Earth, near San Francisco, California.
In 2151, the Stanford men's team competed against the University of Texas in the North American Water Polo finals. Jonathan Archer favored Stanford in that match. (ENT: "Vox Sola")
In 2152, the Enterprise receives an urgent message from Admiral Forrest, relayed through the Vulcan ship Nyran under Captain Tavek. With orders to act as if Captain Archer is still aboard, Commander Tucker pretends to be the Captain in order to receive the message: "Cal beat Stanford 7 to 3." (ENT: "The Seventh")
Stanford is heavily implied to be the alma mater of Jonathan Archer.
