Star Trek: The Original Series is a comic book series published by IDW Publishing that began in April 2007. At this point, 23 issues have been announced across five miniseries. The first is written from the Klingon point of view, set during the three years of Star Trek: The Original Series. The second is a continuation of both the Original Series and the Animated Series, telling of a fourth year in the mission. The third is a continuation of a couple of episodes in the Original Series, the fourth is the spin-off "Assignment Earth" television series in comic book form, and the final is a continuation of one of the Alien Spotlight issues.
