The Starfleet Medal of Commendation is an award awarded to Starfleet personnel for conspicuous acts of valor and heroism.

In 2376, Captain Janeway awarded The Doctor the Starfleet Medal of Commendation for his part in repelling raiders who wanted to strip the USS Voyager of essential components. (VOY: "Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy")
