Stasis field

A stasis field is a field emitted by a stasis unit. It causes complete immobilization of an object, also known as suspended animation. It has medical, tactical, and engineering uses. (VOY: "Renaissance Man"; DS9: "The Die is Cast"; Star Trek: Insurrection)
