Stephen Mines is the actor who played the unfortunate Lieutenant Robert Tomlinson in the original series episode "Balance of Terror".
Mines was a regular cast member on the daytime soap opera As the World Turns from 1966 through 1968. He has not appeared in films or on television since. His role on Star Trek is his last known guest appearance on any TV series.
