Steven Anderson

Actor Steven Anderson appeared as Dr. Nilrem in the fourth season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation entitled "First Contact".
Born in 1951, Steven Anderson has been a character actor for over thirty years, mostly on television. His work includes roles on such series as The Bob Newhart Show, Wonder Woman, Three's Company, China Beach, Murphy Brown, ER, and Baywatch, as well as a recurring role as a prosecuting attorney on the long running courtroom drama, Matlock.
He has also appeared in a few feature films, in character and supporting roles. Among these is the 1979 thriller, When a Stranger Calls, in which he played Carol Kane's husband in the film's final scenes.
More recently, Anderson has appeared on Boston Legal with Star Trek alumni William Shatner and René Auberjonois.

On the TV series Matlock, the role of the prosecuting attorney operating against Andy Griffith in the courtroom scenes was filled by a number of different characters and actors. One of these was Anderson. Another was a pre-TNG Jonathan Frakes.
