Stimsonium is a chemical element listed on the Table of Elements. It is a member of the Transonic series. (TNG: "Rascals")
The element Stimsonium was named after TNG production staff member Mark Stimson. It is an early, in-joke, reference to Ren and Stimpy, which was popular background fodder that year in DS9 Season 1.
