The stratospheric torpedo is a projectile weapon designed to be fired from space into a planet's atmosphere. In 2373, Maquis leader Michael Eddington used stratospheric torpedoes to spread the nerve agent cobalt diselenide into the atmospheres of several Cardassian planets. (DS9: "For the Uniform")
