Talk:1001: First Odyssey
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.
I would have imagined credit would go to Arthur C. Clarke, not Stanley Kubrick, for the creation and subsequent naming of 2001, he was author of the book the film was based on, which in turn was based on a story he'd written earlier called 'The Sentinel'.
Of course, this isn't really a major article, so I wouldn't really worry. 58.178.125.113 15:05, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Except for the fact that Kubrick and Clarke came up with the concepts for 2001 together, including the title. They wrote the two versions at the same time. Thus the differences between book and film due to budgetary constraints (specifically not being able to show the rings around Saturn, so moving the story to Jupiter for the film). -- Sulfur 15:23, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
