Talk:1945
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference
I removed the following because these dates were not cited to or referenced in any one episode. To my knowledge, it is not the practice of MA to reference "real world" events in such a manner:
- August 6th - Humanity's first deployment of an atomic bomb against a specific target is made against the Japanese city of Hiroshima, killing and injuring 130,000 people and leveling 90% of the city.
- August 15th - Earth's Second World War officially ends with the Japanese surrender. Germany surrenders two months earlier.
- October 24th - The charter of the United Nations of Earth is signed in San Francisco by some fifty nation-states.
Also, I removed the foloowing because I don't believe it to be accurate:
- In an alternate timeline, in which Leonard McCoy has saved the life of Edith Keeler in 1930, Germany wins the Second World War by first developing and using the atomic bomb.
The year was not established in "The City on the Edge of Forever" of when Germany created the bomb, just that they had. --Alan del Beccio 14:51, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
