Was it? Based on a dozen or so name-dropped facts about this era, can we really draw that conclusion as conclusive.

It is possible that the horror only affected part of the planet - the presence of a Mandarin in Q's court suggests that the Eastern Coalition may have been the superpower affected by the event."
Does it? Seems to me without all the required facts (who, what, when, where, how) we cannot really justify this statement when we've really one been given a minuscule glimpse of that time period, and just because there were Mandarin's present doesn't automatically make it China (Eastern Coalition)...especially a conclusion is drawn without considering the dozens of Caucasians in that scene that are conveniently overlooked in favor of one non-white to fit into one person's theory.
