Talk:Bank of Bolias

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

Can someone tell me: in what episode does it say that the Bank of Bolias is on Bolarus IX? I don't find reference to Bolarus IX in the script of either "Who Mourns for Morn?" or "Honor Among Thieves," so I don't know where this info comes from. I also am not sure why what seems to be a Federation member planet would have a bank. 98.198.209.158 15:26, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

It's never been said that Federation members surrender their economies to the UFP, only that humans don't generally use money. As to the bank, it probably is supposition, but I think its's not unreasonable given the name.--31dot 15:54, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

I don't think the repeated in-joke of naming stuff after director Cliff Bole means we should list the encyclopedia entries as if all those things are definitely related. That seems kind of weak to me.98.198.209.158 04:54, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

The bank is explicitly connected to the Bolian species in "Who Mourns for Morn?". Referring to the money shipment from the bank, Quark says, "The Bolian transport arrives tomorrow at sixteen hundred hours."– Cleanse 05:01, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
I don't get which part is at question here? That it is or isn't on the planet Bolarus IX? Or whether it is or isn't Bolian at all? --TribbleFurSuit 05:08, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
The first question was whether or not the bank existed on Bolias IX. The second question is whether or not it was a reference to Cliff Bole rather than a simple reference to the Bolians. No, it was never stated it was on Bolias IX and no, it's not a reference to Cliff Bole unless Bolians are a reference and even then it's really not a reference because it's secondary. — Morder 07:39, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
