What was it about them that made anything they emitted "compressed",was it a compressed gas energised and emitting a higher energy phased beam than the typical phaser? Does anyone have any additional substantiating or explanatory details on this terminology? Wejvagh 09:14, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

It was my understanding that these weapons were called "Phaser Compression Rifles", not "Compression Phaser Rifles". Does anyone know of any canon source that could verify the name? TrekFan 01:55, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
