From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

[edit] Deletion

Do we really need a page for this? It's one sentence... and there's nothing someone can't contribute that wouldn't be on the episode's page. – Saphsaph 11:00, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Is the reference not valid? --Alan 11:08, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
I agree. What's the harm in having this page? It was something mentioned in the episode.– Cleanse 11:31, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
I also agree. If it was mentioned, it deserves a page.--31dot 11:52, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

It'd be like having everytime something says something there being a page... Data says, "it's like a tree" *adds a page called tree where it says, "data mentioned this". Riker says, "It's like riding a bike" *adds a page called bike*. Jadzia says she collects forgotten music *adds forgotten music*. There'd be a page for every word uttered. Sorry if there's no rules against this, I'm used to wikipedia rules. This is allowed here? I know each site is attempting to reach different goals. There information on a fictional character would be on the character's page. Each information that only deals with one character wouldn't have it's own article. – Saphsaph 18:58, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

With the exception of the "forgotten music" thing, which would be covered under music or Jadzia Dax, the things you mentioned would get articles, yes. --OuroborosCobra talk 19:11, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Like tree and bicycle. If it's a common noun, and especially a proper noun, there is generally no limitations on the validity of it to become an article. --Alan 19:44, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Can't say I agree with the idea... but I stand corrected, and if those are the rules those are the rules =) – Saphsaph 10:26, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
