Talk:Galen (Doctor)

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.

I think we should probably assume that the Doctor was referencing Claudius Galenus of Pergamum (131-201 AD), who is pretty much up there with Hippocrates and the biggest name in European medicine up until the Renaissance, although that's not saying much. Anyways, if we can assume that the Doctor meant Jonas Salk when he said "Dr. Salk," then we should assume he meant the famous Galen when saying "Dr. Galen."--Tim Thomason 05:20, 15 Oct 2005 (UTC)
