It can be questioned whether Labeau is the Foreign Minister of France or whether Labeau was meeting the "Foreign Minister" of the U.S.

Read the story in the next column, which cites the "United States Minister" in suggesting Americans should leave Thailand. Why this term would be used for any U.S. official (instead of Secretary, Ambassador or other term) is unknown, but its use for an American official here make it possible to read the first story as referring to an American's visit to France since he (the American) became Foreign Minister (Secretary of State?) on February 9. Nonetheless, the dates don't match up here either - Henry Lewis Stimson served as U.S. Secretary of State from March 28, 1929 to March 4, 1933. Tfleming 02:50, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
