well, this statement jarred me out of suspended disbelief. yes, the interphase-cloaked enterprise had to fly through a planet to escape the threat of whatever, but it also means that when jordi and that girl along with the romulans were "phased" they would have died due to lack of heat -- like being thrown out of an airlock. oh yeah, how were they breathing unphased oxygen/air too? alas, it is only a TV show, and i should "get a life" according to shatner. :p

Who said they were technically "breathing"? :-P Or perhaps some oxygen got phased with them and as they went along more "phased" oxygen was produced through their breathing. Who knows, there could be any number of reasons, none of which would really make any sense. Same for the heat thing, or why they didn't phase through the decks of the ship and into outer space. I try not to understand it ... I just smile and nod my head and pretend it makes sense. :-P Oh, and by the way, his name's Geordi, not "Jordi", and "that girl" was Ro Laren. Well according to the article, phased matter can make contact with other phased matter assuming that it is using the same phase variance. Hence, the ship would most likely be using the same phase variance throughout all the ship so that the crew wouldn't fall through decks etc. This effect would also most likely extend to oxygen which allows everyone to breath normally ~Enigmatarius 16:11, 21 September 2006 (EST)
