Does it seem appropriate to assume that the same gender biases seen right now in nurses will still exist in the "enlightened" Federation? -- EtaPiscium 02:52, 24 Sep 2004 (CEST)

I can remember at least one episode of TNG where Dr. Crusher clearly addresses one of her male aides as "nurse". (Similarly, in Voyager's "Caretaker", captain Janeway's remarks suggest that it is common in Starfleet for female superiors to be addressed as "sir".) -- Defstar 02:56, Dec 23, 2004 (CET)

"Assistants to doctors"... nearly choked on my porridge! Think the handmaiden image is long gone, although not much is said about how nurses are educated in the 24th century. But I think they do a lot more than wipe the doctor's brow... Commodore 16:45, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
