It had been mentioned (not sure how reliable a DVD special feature is, though, so take this with a grain of salt) that Riley was a direct decendant of Alan Shepard, and that it was cut before the episode aired.

• What special DVD was that? I'm pretty sure they mentioned that his name was a nod to Budd Aldrin and Alan Shepard, but I'm relatively sure that they didn't' say he was a direct descendant. Could someone confirm? (ps: that still wouldn't be canon I don't believe) - AJHalliwell 03:15, 9 Oct 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Leyton, Shepard, and the Valiant

In "Paradise Lost", Leyton says Shepard won't be returning to Earth anytime soon. Even though a year early, this seems to suggest Shepard was sent off for his assignment on the Valiant--or perhaps for training for that assignment. --Cinder 03:51, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
