Talk:Slug-o-Cola
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.
Isn't this all we know about Slug-o-Cola? If it is, then why is it a stub?
- I can think of a few more things to add. -- Michael Warren | Talk 17:30, Sep 2, 2004 (CEST)

[edit] Note about Earth colas
An anon recently added the following note:
- It is never determined if Slug-o-Cola is the same as the colas originating on Earth or if this is a Ferengi word for a different beverage.
I am moving it to be in background italics. I am not sure I fully inderstand what it means. The episode implies that this is a Ferengi beverage, so what is this question about Earth beverages? --OuroborosCobra 17:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- By and large, alien beverages in Star Trek which share a name with an Earth beverage are assumed to be broadly similar. Antarean brandy is a potent alcoholic drink, Vulcan spice tea is a hot infusion. Therefore it's a valid question as to whether Slug-o-Cola is similar to Earth cola.
- Well, it's green, it comes from slugs, and Quark finds the similar Earth beverage root beer disgusting. Not sure how close to cola it really could be. I think any note that brings up more questions than it answers should be removed. On the other hand, maybe the note should just be reformed to be in the negative, such as:
- It is unlikely that Slug-o-cola bears any resemblance to the Human drink, cola. Quark has expressed significant distaste for the "cloying", "sweet" flavor of the similar Earth beverage, root beer. Moreover, the product is green and actually derived from slugs, rather than from anything analagous to the Kola nut of Earth. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 21:31, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
