The ability to easily negate this type of marriage suggests that it is more like a contract, or civil union, than like a sacrament.

Baseless speculation. All marriages are contracts that can be "negated" (annulled) in the event of fraud. "Sacraments" and "civil unions" not mentioned in canon. --StarFire209 14:15, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
