Talk:USS São Paulo dedication plaque

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

[edit] Defiant and Sao Paulo (Defiant II) dedication plaques

Hi there

I've noticed that on the DS9 S7 Episode when Sisko receives the Sao Paulo from Admirial Ross, if you pause and zoom in on the dedication plaque, as a tribute to the Star Trek team, production and behind the scenes staff names' are used as members of Starfleet who worked on the ship. Also I'm not sure if the Defiant's plaque was ever shown on screen, but in my copy of the 'Star Trek Deep Space Nine Technical Manual' the Defiant's plaque looks the same except for the name and the shipyard and obviously date.

Parts of the plaque look like this:

Starfleet command:

Rick Berman Michael Piller Ira Steven Behr

etc etc

and Chief of Staff:

Gene Roddenberry

I realise that this is like an 'Easter Egg' tribute, but if you were being really nitpicky, shouldn't there be a Memory Alpha alternative page for every single member named in the plaque? I've checked and there are none.

ie

Rick Berman

Rick Berman was a member of Starfleet who worked on the construction of the USS Sao Paulo

etc etc...?

Any help clearing this up is greatly appreciated :)

There are such pages; for example, Rick Berman (Admiral). You can also look through the names linked in the articles at Category:Starfleet dedication plaques. -- Michael Warren | Talk 07:45, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks DarkHorizon, I thought typing the name in would redirect me to a disambiguation page, or there'd be a link to it on the real person's page, didn't think of adding admiral to the end. Dream Reverie 07:50, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
