Talk:USS Ulysses

[edit] Really a Nebula?

Is there any canon evidence that this is a Nebula Class Starship? I remember the game "The Fallen" and that was a Nebula, but I don't recall that the class of ship was ever given in an episode. --Sloan47 07:57, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

This is a valid point. The Ulysses probably didn't have a class specified until it was mentioned in the Star Trek Encyclopedia -- but there's a chance it could've been refrenced onscreen in a computer readout or other such thing, since the authors of the Encyclopedia also created graphics for the series at that time. -- Captain M.K.B. 08:06, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Name

I reverted edits that changed the source of the name to be from the Roman form of Odysseus to being for the US general and president Ulysses S. Grant. First off, it is not common practice, or even courtesy, to name a vessel after only one's first name. I find it highly unlikely this was done. Second, historical ships named for president Grant have included both his first and last name, as in the case of the USS Ulysses S. Grant. --OuroborosCobra talk 20:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
