Talk:Venus
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.
[edit] Removed
This doesn't come from any Trek sources and can be found at the wikipedia link at the bottom of the page:
- ...and is named after the Roman goddess of love in Earth (Roman) mythology. Orbiting Sol at a distance of 0.72 astronomical units and having a dense carbon dioxide atmosphere creating a pressure of 95 bars on its surface, Venus suffers from a runaway greenhouse effect resulting in temperatures of up to 763 Kelvin. In addition, the Venusian atmosphere contains high concentrations of sulfuric acid.
I also removed the planet sidebar, there was no valuable information to place in it, and the Class N reference is not canon. --Alan 03:08, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Also:
- Venus is considered a Class N Planet. {{incite}}
I suspect this comes from the Star Maps or something. If so, it would be better placed at the bottom in the Background section. --Alan del Beccio 03:30, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Don't they mention Venus in a discussion about "demon class" planets in an episode of Voyager? 24.202.243.17 08:05, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
