From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

Was this plant identified in dialog as a Viola? I don't see any text indicating that. If it wasn't, how do we know this isn't an alien plant?--31dot 13:45, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

First of all common sense prevails, and that is what it is. Second of all, because everything else that was scanned in said episode/scene/database was from Earth, just go back to the source gallery and have a look. --Alan 17:31, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Fine with me, as I'm well aware of the use of common sense here, but you seemed to argue against the similar articles that Airtram3 wrote here. Granted, you did not go into nearly as much detail, but I'm wondering how that's different.
There are also many plants which appear similar but are very different. I believe you when you say that's what it is, but technically we don't know that in canon. I will not say any more about it, though. --31dot 19:20, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
