• It has been speculated that his rank insignia as a petty officer would probably be a version of Miles O'Brien's senior chief petty officer insignia, with fewer chevrons and/or pips (O'Brien's insignia has three chevrons and two pips), although it is not clear whether Brott wore any insignia in the episode.
