[edit] Other Texts
Don't forget the Klingon sacred scrolls, Boraalan chronicle, Bajoran prophecy, Voth Doctrine and I think I would add The Teachings of Surak as well. Jaf 14:47, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Jaf
- Not sure what Klingon sacred scrolls are. We have Paq'batlh, which might cover that. Being a red link, this is a bit hard, and I could not find anything using the wiki search function. The Boraalan chronicle (again, red link, but I remember it) was more of a history book then a religious text. While the motivation to write it may have been religious, its contents do not seem that way to me. Not sure about Bajoran prophecy. Seems like a whole lot of stories, rather than one text. If we put that on, we would also have to add Greek myths, or something. I'm not entirely opposed to that, just wanted to point it out. I am opposed to Doctrine. Do we really know that is a religious text, rather than a religious belief? Based on what we know, it seems more like a belief. One would not call "Creationism" a religious text, I do not think Doctrine is either. Now for The Teachings of Surak. Not a religious text, in my mind. I can go to my local bookstore and find a lot of different versions of things called "The teachings of Buddha", written by a lot of different authors, and they are not religious texts. The religious text based on his Surak's teachings is the Kir'Shara, which is already in the template. --OuroborosCobra talk 15:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Sacred scrolls are from "Prophecy". As for Boraalan chronical I think that was also sometimes called sacred scroll, but I could be mistaken. Some Bajoran prophecies are texts, so that is tricky. As for Doctrine, I can't remember if any one read from it or quoted it in the show, I thought it was a text but you could be right. Jaf 16:15, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Jaf
- What? No Chicago Mobs of the Twenties? :-) -- StAkAr Karnak 20:49, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- StAkAr, thank you so much. I had that in mind from the beginning, but for the life of me I could not remember the name, and since I was busy with some other stuff around me I did not have time to check the episode article. I think that one qualifies. --OuroborosCobra talk 20:59, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- No prob. Just cut me in for a piece of the action. -- StAkAr Karnak 22:06, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
