Transwarp aperture

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

A transwarp aperture at a Borg transwarp hub

A transwarp aperture was an opening to a transwarp conduit, which can be an entry or exit point.

The Brunali homeworld was located less than a light year from a transwarp aperture, which made it a frequent target for Borg assaults. (VOY: "Child's Play")

A transwarp conduit can be collapsed by detonating photon torpedoes at its exit aperture, resulting in the destruction of any vessels in-transit. In 2375, USS Voyager destroyed the Borg Queen's vessel in this manner. (VOY: "Dark Frontier")

The Borg transwarp hubs maintained hundreds of open transwarp apertures. In 2378, Voyager entered aperture 823 to access transwarp conduit 9 at a Delta Quadrant hub. This led them to an exit aperture less than one light year from Earth. (VOY: "Endgame")
