Transwarp signature

A transwarp signature is a change made to an area of transwarp space by the passage of a ship generating a transwarp conduit, that was detectable by sensors.
From within transwarp space it is easy to detect the residual and active transwarp signatures of other ships that generate conduits. It is possible to match signatures to specific ships. Debris within a conduit registers on sensors as multiple signatures. (VOY: "Dark Frontier")
