Travel pod 05 was a Starfleet travel pod assigned to the orbital office complex above Earth in the late 23rd century.
In the mid-2270s, Travel pod 05 was used to ferry Admiral James T. Kirk and Commander Montgomery Scott from the orbital office complex to the refit USS Enterprise. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
In 2285, Travel pod 05 was used again to transport Admiral Kirk, Dr. Leonard McCoy, Commanders Hikaru Sulu and Uhura to the Enterprise. The travel pod then docked at the ship's port side torpedo bay. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)
Travel pod 05's appearance in The Wrath of Khan was due to reused footage from The Motion Picture.
