Tri-nucleic fungi are relatively simple fungal lifeforms native to Kabrel I.

Tri-nucleic fungi can be broken down to produce yridium bicantizine, one of the active ingredients in ketracel-white. For this reason, the Dominion attempted to negotiate with the Federation for control of Kabrel I in 2374, so that they can synthesize a virtually unlimited supply of white in the Alpha Quadrant to sustain the Jem'Hadar.
