The USS Huron (NCC-F1913) was a Federation freighter that was under the command of Captain O'Shea during late 23rd century.
In 2270, the Huron was carrying a vital supply of a medication called strobolin to choriocytosis-stricken USS Enterprise. She was attacked and raided by Orion pirates, her engines sabotaged.
Upon the rescue of her crew by the Enterprise, the hulk of the Huron was abandoned as "space junk." (TAS: "The Pirates of Orion")

[edit] Background
The Huron is the namesake of a Native American tribe of North America, as well as a lake, also named after the same tribe.
The Huron was the first Federation registered Starfleet ship design besides the Constitution-class to ever be shown on screen. No class name was ever recorded for this freighter design. One oddity surrounding this ship is the registry number NCC-F1913, since no other canon starship since has ever used a letter prefix in the number field of the registry. Presumably, the "F" stands for freighter.
Although the ship was manned by Starfleet officers this vessel was consistently referred to as as the "SS" Huron, rather than the "USS" Huron, as in the case of the SS Tsiolkovsky. Despite this, the hull clearly reads "USS Huron".
