USS Sarajevo

USS Sarajevo (NCC-38529) was a Federation starship that was in service during the 24th century.

The Sarajevo disappeared in the Gamma Quadrant some time prior to 2373, and was presumed destroyed by the Dominion. (DS9: "In Purgatory's Shadow")

Apparently, the Sarajevo was recovered by 2374, as it reported suffering casualties in the Dominion War. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight")

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia this ship was described as an Istanbul-class. The Sarajevo was listed on the casualty report in "In the Pale Moonlight" with the same registry as the ship that disappeared (according to the Encyclopedia), suggesting it was not a new ship.

The Sarajevo was either named for the capital city of Bosnia-Herzegovina or the 22nd century Earth starship Sarajevo.
