USS Saratoga (2374)
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.
The USS Saratoga was a Federation starship active during the late 24th century. She was the replacement for the USS Saratoga lost in the Battle of Wolf 359 and commissioned in the late 2360s.
Ryan, a Starfleet officer, served aboard this ship in 2369. That year, he competed against Keith Rocha on Relay Station 47. (TNG: "Aquiel")
Five years later, the Saratoga docked at Deep Space 9.
Following its arrival Jadzia Dax hoped to have a party, where she promised not to invite more than fifty or sixty guests. Worf, who found the idea unappealing, foresaw 200 people jammed into their quarters eating, drinking and laughing before all was said and done. Although Dax would continue to make a persuasive argument to Worf, the idea was eventually canceled. (DS9: "Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night")
- The Saratoga may have been named for the USS Saratoga, an aircraft carrier.
[edit] Apocrypha
The novel Saratoga states that this Saratoga is a newly-built Miranda-class ship, with the registry NCC-31911-A. It seems unlikely that a new Miranda would be built circa 2370.
In the Star Trek: Voyager comic book "Ghosts", additional survivors of the Saratoga were found in the Delta Quadrant, carried there by a temporal rift.
In Star Trek: Armada II, the Saratoga is a Sovereign-class starship.
