The USS Truman was a 23rd century Federation starship that was in service during the late 2250s.
In 2258, the Truman was docked at Earth Spacedock at the time Vulcan came under attack by Nero. Several graduates of Starfleet Academy were assigned to this ship in the scramble to get a fleet to Vulcan. Upon its arrival at Vulcan, the Truman was immediately destroyed by the Narada in the subsequent Battle of Vulcan, along with six other starships. (Star Trek)
The Truman was briefly seen, however not specifically identified, when the shuttlecraft Gilliam flew over the spacedock to the USS Enterprise, and Captain Pike asked crew member Hannity to contact the Truman just before their arrival at Vulcan. The ship was presumably named after Harry S. Truman, who served as President of the United States of America from 1945-1953.
