USS Zapata

The USS Zapata (NCC-33184) was a Federation starship in service during the 24th century.

In 2366, the Zapata was scheduled to rendezvous with the USS Enterprise-D at Xanthras III. (TNG: "Ménage à Troi") The ship later fought in the Dominion War during the 2370s. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight", "What You Leave Behind")

The Star Trek Encyclopedia states that this vessel was a Surak-class starship. The ship's registry is derived from the okudagram that first appeared in DS9 Season 6, bearing the registry that first appeared in the Encyclopedia.

The Zapata was most likely named for Emiliano Zapata, a Mexican revolutionary hero.
