From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference
Hi,
I started an account here so that people could track me if they wanted to, I've only made a couple of tiny contributions to the site but I thought it was only fair that people should be able to see who I was if I was playing with their toys. I don't plan to change contribute much, but I do enjoy the site as a reader.
I'm English, live in London and am a writer by trade. If there's a book about TV or film by someone with my name on Amazon.com, then that's me. If it's a book about football (soccer) then it isn't. I also contribute to a review site called www.shinyshelf.com, if you ever want to take a look at that. I've done a few 'Trek' articles there, although my opinions don't tend to chime with much of organised fandom, I think.
I'm a TOS and TAS fan for preference, I also like most TNG. I'm particuarly interested in looking at the episodes that were scripted by Gene Roddenberry himself, as he interests me more as a dramatist than as a producer and at the top of his game he really was a first rate TV screenwriter. I think 'The Omega Glory', for example, is terribly underrated.
I can't really work up and enthusiasm for DS9 or VOY and gave up on both early in their respective sophomore years, coming back for odd episodes that took my fancy. The same was true of ENT, although I was really won back by the fourth season, which I thought was pretty much consistently excellent.
Thanks, JIM
