I truly became a Star Trek fan watching TNG starting at what must be the age of 13-14. I remember thinking Q should show up to solve the Borg problem in The Best of Both Worlds. Ah, the simple plot requirements of youth. Deus ex ma-what?
I got into a bro-hah-hah over nitpicking, and then decided to register. Personally, I point out things that are "wrong" in Trek out of love, and because I find inconsistencies amusing, as well as silly science like when Voyager members evolved into a Salamanders, etc. (Though that prehistoric Klingon in TNG when they de-evolved was scary.)
Am I allowed to pontificate in my own page? Surely, other people won't edit this. Anyway, I hope to contribute here and there to the wiki. It's more fun than doing actual scientific research.
- My favorite ridiculous Star Trek moment is that the Borg orbital weapons that attack Earth in First Contact appear to be about as powerful as 20th century mortar shells. Shouldn't one photon-torpedo-equivalent be more than enough to annihilate an entire city? Are you telling me the Borg weren't packing anything stronger than weapons that can't even blow up a house?
